Purdue defeated Illinois 96-88 in basketball!

Their victory over No. 17 Illinois in double overtime Monday was a big one for the Boilermakers, and it was one of their best Big Ten wins ever!

There were 22 points and eight rebounds from Sasha Stefanovic for Purdue (15-2, 4-2). She made five of eight three-pointers and scored 22 points.

There is a big man in the Boilermakers' group. Twenty points, eight rebounds, and two blocks from Zach Edey helped make the game even better.

Alfonso Plummer led the way for No. 17 Illinois (13-4, 6-1) in the loss. Plummer scored 24 points on six of 12 3-point shots.

It was the first time Andre Curbello had played for the Illini in more than a month. He scored 20 points and had three assists.

Center Kofi Cockburn scored 10 points and grabbed five rebounds before he was sent to the bench in overtime. He also had two steals.

It looked like Illinois was going to lose by 11 at the half, but they made a big comeback in the second half. They outscored Purdue 43-32 to force overtime.

Purdue beat Illinois 27-19 in overtime, and they did it in both of the periods. After the first overtime, the game was still tied 78-78, so it went to a second overtime.
