Glenn Consor's apology to Kevin Porter Jr.

On Wednesday night, the Houston Rockets traveled to Washington, D.C., to face the Washington Wizards.

Kevin Porter Jr.'s buzzer-beating basket gave the Rockets a 114-111 victory against the Wizards at the end of the third quarter.

Announcer Glenn Consor said: “You’ve got to give credit. Kevin Porter Jr., like his dad, pulled that trigger right at the right time.”

In the 1993 shooting murder of a teenager, Porter's father allegedly pled guilty to manslaughter.

Consor informed Porter that he had personally apologized and intended to speak with him shortly.

"Please allow me to take this opportunity to sincerely apologize to Kevin Porter Jr., his family, and the Rockets organization for the comments I made during last night's game,"

Consor's apologetic tweet

In more than 20 years, Glenn Consor had been a Wizard's radio host.

LeBron James, a member of the Los Angeles Lakers, among others, took to social media to express their displeasure with Consor.

The Sports Network on NBC Washington said it agreed with Consor's apologies.
