On Sunday, Austin Cindric won the crash-filled 64th annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.

Cindric, 23, edged out Bubba Wallace to win his first NASCAR Cup Series race.

Chase Briscoe, Ryan Blaney, and Aric Almirola rounded out the top five.

A wreck involving Kevin Harvick, Kyle Larson, and others brought the race to a halt with nine laps to go.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. led the restart with seven laps remaining but was pushed into the wall by Brad Keselowski.

Denny Hamlin crashed out of the event for the first time after an eight-car incident near the end of the first stage.

The race featured "Next Gen" cars, meaning none had ever competed in an official points race.

The new body styles and components were created to reduce team costs and improve racing.
